  童年时代,在封闭的鲁西南农村,急驰而过的货车、难得一现的客车,它会猝不及防之间粗暴而凛冽提醒我们:远方,你去吗?你去得了吗?于是,那个其爸爸是货车司机的同学让我遐想;于是,那个坐车去县城读初中的同学让伙伴们羡慕,甚至有人清楚得记得,她上车的时候,穿着红色的新皮鞋。

  今天见车而厌、坐车即烦的人,可能无法理解当年的`孩子见汽车而心动眼热,见火车经过常掷石块的心理扭曲——只因远方不属于自己。

  我理解美国小说家托马斯沃尔夫的《远与近》中的偏远小镇的那对母女为什么一见准时经过的火车就跑出来挥挥手,她们是向到不了的远方致意吧。

  然而,我们在享受交通工具升级所带来的便利的同时,会不由自主地将自己交给节奏,交给忙碌。高铁时代,我们似乎被裹挟进快节奏、高速度的潮流中,一路兴奋着向前狂奔。我们赢得了速度,却放逐了审美;获得了时间,却迷失了自我。

  救赎之途何在?

  7月19日,江苏省委党校举行的“全省高校*校长培训班”上传出消息,江苏高考新方案已经确定,新方案采用“3+3”模式。

  据透露,2017江苏高考新方案“3+3”模式即语数外三门必考,然后在物理、化学、生物、历史、政治、地理六门学科中任选三门进行考试,并计入总分,初步考虑语文、数学是180分,外语是150分或140分,三门选考科目适当降低,采用90分或100分。

  权威人士称,经过多方调研,目前关于高考科目的意见已达成共识,“江苏高考新方案3+3”基本确定。这种模式,既能考查学生的.综合素质,又符合教育部文理不分科的要求。下面,主要就计分权重如何更加科学合理作进一步研究。比如外语是150分还是140分,选考科目是90分还是100分,还要细细研究。目前国家总的高考改革方案还没有出来,一旦教育部公布,江苏也会及时跟进。根据至少提前三年发布政策,新方案争取秋季开学前公布,力争2017年实施。

  江苏目前高考总分是480分。根据正在研究的高考新方案,今后总分至少770分,最多达到810分,增加了将近一倍。

  记者了解到,在江苏高考2017新方案拟定“3+3”方案中,语文、数学不再文理分卷,可能分别为180分,体现了文理不分科的思想。此外,英语从原来的120分,上升至140分或150分,其中除了笔试,还包括听力和口语的分数。而听力有望从笔试中剥离出来,和口语一起一年两考,再以分数计入总分。

  北京市《2017年高考照顾加分政策规定》提出,北京市今年高招少数民族加分政策整体缩紧,加分范围仅限于“边疆、山区、牧区、少数民族聚居地区在高中阶段转学到本市就读的少数民族考生”,此项加分政策只适用于市属高校录取,考生可加5分。 据了解,往年高考加分考生中少数民族考生占比很高,今年政策调整后,今年此类加分考生数量可能会大幅减少。东城区高招办统计数据显示,去年该区少数民族考生有541人,今年高招只有1名考生申请少数民族加分,目前尚在审核阶段。

  湖北省的政策指出,今年高考招生取消农村独生女加分项目,它是湖北省省目前唯一的地方性高考加分项目。据了解,该项目已有9年的历史,2016年湖北农村独生女加分政策分值降低,从原来的10分调整为5分,2017年则直接取消了这一项目。

  When John was growing up, other kids felt sorry for him. His parents always had him weeding the garden, carrying out the garbage and delivering newspapers. But when John reached *hood, he was better off than his childhood playmates. He had more job satisfaction, a better marriage and was healthier. Most of all, he was happier. Far happier.

  These are the findings of a 40-year study that followed the lives of 456 teenage boys from Boston. The study showed that those who had worked as boys enjoyed happier and more productive lives than those who had not. “Boys who worked in the home or community gained competence (能力) and came to feel they were worthwhile members of society,” said George Vaillant, the psychologist (心理学家) who made the discovery. “And because they felt good about themselves, others felt good about them.”

  Vaillant’s study followed these males in great detail. Interviews were repeated at ages 25, 31 and 47. Under Vaillant, the researchers compared the men’s mental-health scores with their boyhood-activity scores with their boyhood-activity scores. Points were awarded for part-time jobs, housework, effort in school, and ability to deal with problems.

  The link between what the men had done as boys and how they turned out as *s was surprisingly sharp. Those who had done the most boyhood activities were twice as likely to have warm relations with a wide variety of people, five times as likely to be well paid and 16 times less likely to have been unemployed. The researchers also found that IQ and family social and economic class made no real difference in how the boys turned out. Working----at any age----is important.   Failure is probably the most exhausting experience a person ever has. There is nothing more tiring than not succeeding.

  We experience this tiredness in two ways: as start-up fatigue(疲惫) and performance fatigue. In the former case, we keep putting off a task because it has either too boring or too difficult. And the longer we delay it, the more tired we feel.

  Such start-up fatigue is very real, even if not actually physical, not something in our muscles and bones. The solution is obvious though perhaps not easy to ap*: always handle the most difficult job first.

  Years ago, I was asked to write 102 essays on the great ideas of some famous authors. Ap*ing my own rule, I determined to write them in alphabetical(按字母顺序), never letting myself leave out a tough idea. And I always started the day’s work with the difficult task of essay-writing. Experience proved that the rule works.

  Performance fatigue is more difficult to handle. Though willing to get started, we cannot seem to do the job right. Its difficulties appear so great that, however hard we work, we fail again and again. In such a situation, I work as hard as I can-then let the unconscious take over.

  When planning Encyclopaedia Britannica (《大英百科全书》), I had to create a table of contents based on the topics of its articles. Nothing like this had ever been done before, and day after dat I kept coming up with solutions, but none of them worked. My fatigue became almost unbearable.

  One day, mentally exhausted, I wrote down all the reasons why this problem could not be solved. I tried to convince myself that the trouble was with the problem itself, not with me. Relived, I sat back in an easy chair and fell asleep.

  An hour later, I woke up suddenly with the solution clearly in mind. In the weeks that followed, the solution which had come up in my unconscious mind provided correct at every step. Though I worked as hard as before, I felt no fatigue. Success was now as exciting as failure had been depressing.
